Istanbul Sapphire

Address: Emniyet Evleri Mah. Eski Buyukdere Cad. Levent, Besiktas, Istanbul, Turkey

The Istanbul Sapphire is the tallest building in Istanbul (236 meters high) and it’s worth the visit! The building is mainly a shopping mall but it also has a food court and residences. However the boutiques and stores aren’t very touristic but you can purchase local Turkish goods and products from them. At the top of the building, there is an observation deck, which you can visit for 15 TL (per person) and make sure to bring your camera! It is open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. The elevator that takes you to the observation deck has a meter, which shows you how high you are and what speed you’re travelling at. The observation deck is on the 53rd floor and you can see Istanbul in a 360º view! The view of the city, of the Bosphorus and of the historical monuments are amazing, especially when you take pictures at nighttime or during sunsets. If you want, you can pay a little extra to go ride a 4D simulation where you’re flying in a helicopter over Istanbul. However, we didn’t go on this because our young family member is terrified of 3D or 4D movies/simulations. The gift shop of the Istanbul Sapphire, in my opinion, was extremely overpriced and I don’t recommend buying something from there about the building or about Istanbul because you can find the same, cheaper souvenirs somewhere else. You can easily visit the Istanbul Sapphire by taking the metro. Overall, this is the best place to take photographs of Istanbul and it’s surroundings!

A great observation point with a 360 degree view on the city at 236 m height on top of the Sapphire tower. Amazing. Go to B1 floor to buy tickets.
Living in Istanbul, I bring every visitor to the top of Sapphire Tower. The view is breathtaking and makes you realise the size of the city (you cannot see to the end). So don't miss this spot! Forget the cinema stuff and don't take the photo. Just enjoy the view. There is a door one floor up to the real top (360° observation deck), don't miss this!
Special tip: Go up there before sunset, have a cup of tea (5 TL) to enjoy the view by day and night.
We were very impressed by Sapphire! Amazing building and what a view!! Endless city..We also went on the so cold ''4D cinema '', but to tell you the truth it was a bit disappointing. May be the glasses were bad, so we couldn't see clearly (all of us - 4 people :)), the stereo was making some kind of noise as if it was broken. But when you go out of the cinema and you see the same movie on the screen in front of you for free (but you gave 28 to see it on a big screen). Before you go in the elevator one lady wants to make a picture of you ''for FREE'', when you go out of the cinema one man offers you your picture, asks you if you want to take 1 or 2 pictures AND SURPRISE - you have to pay 25 TL!! But they is already printed, so, you now you have to pay your ''free picture''.
